Amaru Shakur (2Pac) aka. Makaveli was born in Brooklyn, NY
on June 16th, 1971. Tupac Amaru means wisdom and courage and
is after a famous Inca revolutionary leader.
In the mid 80'ies, Tupac attended the Baltimore School
for the Arts and started rapping under the name MC
New York.
In 1990, Tupac joined the Rap Ensemble Digital Underground
as a roadie and dancer. Soon after, Digital Undergrounds
Shock G recognized 2Pacs talent and invited him to rap
on the song "Same Song" which was released
on the EP "This is an EP released" in 1991.
In the same year, Tupac signed a record deal with Interscope
Records and released his first solo album "2Pacalypse
Now". He also co-stared in his first movie "Juice"
with actors like Samuel L. Jackson and Omar Epps. "Juice",
directed by Ernest R. Dickerson premiered on January 17th,

Tupacs second solo album "Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z"
was released on February 16th, 1993 and immediately went gold.
In 1994 Tupac was convicted of two counts of sexual abuse
charges and was sentenced to one and a half to four and a
half years at the Clinton Correctional Facilities just after
being shot 5 times in NY. While in jail, the album "Me
against the World" came out and entered US Billboard
Pop charts at #1.
After 2Pac was released from Jail he signed a 3 albums contract
with Suge Knights Death Row Records. "All Eyez On
Me" was released on Death Row Records and became
the second best selling Rap album ever.
On September 7th, 1996, Tupac, the Outlawz and Suge Knight
attendet the Mike Tyson vs. Bruce Seldon fight at the MGM
Grand in Las Vegas. Tyson knocked out Seldon after only 90
seconds. Afterwards Tupac and Suge headed to Suges "Club
662" to perform but they never arrived. At at 11:15,
a white, four-door, late-model, Cadillac with California plates
pulled up. Two of the four men inside the car got out and
fired thirteen rounds into the passenger side of the car,
from a Glock .40 caliber handgun. Tupac was pronounced dead
by Dr. Lovett on September 13th, 1996.
Since 2Pacs death there have been released 7 2Pac albums,
2 movies and a poetry book written by Tupac Shakur.
